At the age of 14, I began experiencing many occurrences related to my intuitive and clairvoyant abilities. These experiences were utterly foreign at the time, and I had no idea what was happening to me. Despite this, I found that I could read and see things others could not, such as energy and futuristic events.
This period was incredibly stressful as my abilities made me feel different and isolated from everyone around me. I could sense negative and positive energies in people and see things that could occur well into the future. Over time, these abilities began to seem normal to me. Still, my family could not understand or relate to what I was experiencing, making it impossible to explain how I felt and talk openly.
As a highly empathetic person, I found it challenging to differentiate between my own emotions and the emotions of others. I could sense the needs and wants of others, their pain, and their sorrow, but I was unsure what was happening to them. Being too young to understand or contextualize these experiences only increased my confusion and anxiety.
A Rough Road With A Flicker Of Light
During this time and throughout my childhood, abuse was also a factor I had to contend with. Given my abilities, I could read into these experiences more deeply than others. This was both jarring and perplexing. All of these conflicting emotions made me increasingly scared and isolated.
My brother was, at the time, an undiagnosed violent schizophrenic whose episodes massively contributed to the overall instability of family life. It is so easy to lose touch with your true center and trust your intuition when you are constantly looking over your shoulder in fear. Slowly, I lost touch with my intuition and focused more on reading positive and negative energy to protect myself.
However, I could still sense things about the future. The problem was that I grew up in an environment that didn’t nurture or value abilities. Therefore, I was made to feel different and siloed from those around me. No child should feel that way.
Luckily there was hope.
Why? Primarily because my mother gave me the tools to fight the battles ahead. She had begun studying metaphysical reality and spiritual practices like astrology and provided me with the support and guidance I needed at this crucial adolescent time. Her intuitive sense allowed her to understand what her child was experiencing and to offer advice and reassurance.
Finding My Purpose Through Astrology
After my parents finally separated, my mother decided to take me to a Vedic Astrologer she had met previously. In retrospect, my mother’s foresight saved my life, and I am eternally grateful for her support during this challenging time.
The experience was mind-blowing. The astrologer informed me that I had a gift. From that point on, I better understood my power and how to control it. I learned I was a psychic kid with empathic abilities, which meant I could sense energy and emotions around me without trying. The astrologer helped me to see that my abilities were not a curse and that if I chose, I could use them to help others around me.
Much of this insight came from the astrologer reading my astrological chart. She noted that I had a powerful connection to universal consciousness and a natural ability to tune into higher vibrations. This went a long way in explaining why I always felt different from others and why I could sense things that others couldn’t. Her insights were a revelation.
Of course, this knowledge was also frightening. Given she was an absolute astrologer, there wasn’t much flexibility in her predictions. Therefore, despite being able to diagnose my experiences, she couldn’t provide any strategies to make them easier to deal with. This part was up to me.
I now had direction and purpose. If I embraced my psychic abilities, I could use them to navigate the world and help others navigate theirs more meaningfully.
It’s All In The Chart
As I got older, I became increasingly fascinated with astrology and the power of understanding one’s own design as a person. Through my birth chart, I discovered how I came to be, what I was born to be, and the unique attributes, characteristics, strengths, weaknesses, and internal and external conflicts that coalesce into making me who I am today!
Despite all this newfound knowledge, It wasn’t until I experienced a spiritual awakening at the age of 23 that I began to study astrology seriously. I devoured everything I could and realized that there was so much more to how we can live our lives than what you might see or hear on TV or in the workplace.
It makes complete sense that we live within an energy force that undoubtedly impacts everyone. That’s why I was drawn to astrology – it provided a framework for understanding the cosmic influences in our lives.
